CVC DIF, the infrastructure strategy of leading global private markets manager CVC, is the majority shareholder in Low Carbon. Working alongside MassMutual, CVC DIF will enable Low Carbon to significantly expand its installed capacity and drive the next stage of growth as a diversified, leading next-generation IPP.
Role Description
Sitting within the Financial Operations and Controls team, the newly created Finance Manager role will be at the centre of the group’s renewable assets in construction and operation. The role will report to the Head of Group Accounting and Reporting, and will be responsible for the group’s expanding operational portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, take ownership of their responsibilities, and be willing to be hands-on when required. They will be comfortable understanding the detail but also stepping back to assess implications for the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
People leadership and business partnering
- Manage, coordinate and review the work of Financial Accountants, ensuring compliance with Low Carbon and regulatory policies, standards and procedures
- Maintain proactive and regular communication with key stakeholders across finance and the wider organisation, providing support and financial insight
- Ensure that people development requirements are planned and implemented to support team goals and company KPIs
- Demonstrate strong leadership by providing clear direction, support and motivation to team members, fostering a high-performing team environment

Financial reporting and control
- Drive the month-end process for the group’s operational portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Lead the preparation and review of annual statutory financial statements for portfolio entities and act as a key contact during the year-end audit process
- Develop and implement finance processes and controls, driving continuous improvement across the operational portfolio
Technical accounting and commercial activities
- Support the management of financing arrangements and facility agreements, including reporting and covenant requirements
- Prepare technical accounting assessments and accounting papers for significant transactions and complex accounting matters
- Support acquisitions, disposals and other strategic transactions, working with internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts and wider financial planning activities for the operational portfolio
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with circa 5 years PQE
- Experience in a senior finance role, including direct line management and leadership of finance professionals
- Experience working within the renewable energy, infrastructure, construction or a similarly asset-intensive industry
- Demonstrable experience of driving improvement in a growing organisation
- Proven ability to lead and deliver technical accounting and commercial projects
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across both finance and non-finance teams
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience of debt reporting, consolidations and financial instruments/derivatives considered advantageous
- Experience contributing to annual budgets, periodic forecasts and longer-term financial planning processes, including partnering with operational stakeholders to challenge assumptions and support decision-making
- Exposure to international operations and overseas entities preferred
