International Finance Manager

Summary:

This is a key position within Turtle Beach’s International finance operations. The role will initially have responsibility for entities in UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, together with responsibility for additional international entities as the Group develops and expands. The role will ensure that each entity operates within a robust financial-control environment, ensuring that our underlying accounting records are compliant with relevant accounting GAAP and regulations, and can be supported during audit to minimize audit queries and avoid material findings. The role will act as a key finance contact for internal and external audits and will work closely with the Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR, Sales, Marketing and Operational teams.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting and financial-control experience with an good understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and FRS102.

This role will be suited to an experienced finance professional who enjoys working across international businesses, problem solving, continuous improvement and with a strong attention to ensuring we maintain good governance whilst always looking to evolve our processes. The ideal candidate will be someone who is also keen to improve automation, our functional maturity and take a lead in our AI evolution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Month End Reporting: Month end journal preparation and review of certain journals prepared by team members. Running the month end close meeting, assisting to ensure all key tasks have been completed by the appropriate deadlines. Completion and review of various month end reconciliations, in collaboration with the Finance Director and broader finance team. Preparation of Month End Reporting Packs.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Be a key contact with external auditors and assist with coordinating and preparing the audit deliverables for the European entities. Assist with internal SOX related compliance and testing; evaluate our internal control environment to strengthen and simplify as needed. Preparation of UK Statutory accounts under FRS102. Preparation of information for UK Corporation Tax Return and computation including providing support required to our tax advisors.
  • Payroll related tasks: Prepare journals and reconciliations for payroll accounts, ensuring payments made timely and supporting information is compliant. Assist HR with finance data needed for statutory filings, for example P11D and PSA filings and any payroll related tax/audit enquiries. Preparing and filing of ERS Returns.
  • Cash flow forecasting: Preparation of cash flow forecasting to help business understand expected payments, receipts and cash balances. Review the bank reconciliations for European entities.
  • ERP (Netsuite) Finance Key Support: Assist with problem solving for issues identified in Netsuite, assist with Netsuite projects with information and testing.
  • Team Development: Ensure junior team members [both directly reporting into this role but also across the broader finance team] are fully supported to aid their learning and development, assisting in training and counselling them in order to help them understand the expectations of them, to grow and achieve career progression. This role currently has 1 direct report but this may grow in the future.
  • Vendor Bills & Expenses: Approver for certain vendor bills and expenses, ensure spend is understood and challenged where necessary. Liaise with the other departments to understand spend. Liaise with FP&A to understand budgets and department costs, feeding into the process for understanding variances. Ensure that costs are recorded appropriately in the income statement.
  • Continuous improvement: We are committed to always looking to evolve our processes whilst maintaining a strong control environment and as Finance Manager there will be an expectation to bring ideas and suggestions for further discussion and evaluation so that we can further evolve our finance function. Be a Finance Lead on certain projects, ensuring that they reach completion within expected timeframes and to assist on other projects where necessary.

Qualifications/Education:

Essential: Qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.

Experience /Skills:

Essential

  • Experience within a multinational organisation and/or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with SOX and Internal/External audit requests, assisting with managing the deliverables and ensuring learnings from audits are used to improve compliance environment.
  • Good understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and FRS102.
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly to non-specialists.
  • Able to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and operational teams.
  • High degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Highly Desirable

  • NetSuite experience, including assisting in problem solving with IT support and project support for improvements.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between Group GAAP reporting and local statutory accounting requirements.
  • Keen interest in AI evolution and automation possibilities within Finance.
  • Experience working with European and Asian entities.
  • Experience of working on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of team leadership and developing more junior staff.
