Finance Manager (Maternity Cover)

Location: Middlesbrough
Contract: Fixed-Term Maternity Cover

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next challenge within a successful manufacturing business? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Middlesbrough for a Finance Manager to provide maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced organisation where you will play a pivotal role in supporting senior management with accurate and timely financial information.

The business is seeking an individual who can make an immediate impact, although candidates with a short notice period will also be considered.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the finance function and act as a key business partner across the organisation, providing meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts
  • Financial reporting and analysis for senior management
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Monitoring financial performance and identifying areas for improvement
  • Supporting business planning and strategic decision-making
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with company procedures
  • Liaising with external auditors and other stakeholders where required
  • Management and mentoring of finance team members

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who are:

  • Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), part-qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)
  • Experienced within a manufacturing, engineering or similar operational environment
  • Confident producing management accounts and delivering financial reports
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across the business
  • Hands-on, proactive and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to start within a short timeframe
