Tool Tec Ltd is an award-winning leader in remote intervention tooling and subsea engineering based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. We specialise in the design, manufacture, and operation of remote intervention and tooling for offshore energy projects worldwide. Our in-house engineering and technical teams provide everything from bespoke tooling solutions to equipment rental, maintenance, and rapid-response problem solving.

The Role & Responsibilities

The Finance Manager will provide accurate financial reporting, project profitability, cash management and transactional support to the business. The role focuses on ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, financial reports are accurately and timeously prepared and cash is optimal within the business.

Financial Reporting

  • Produce monthly management accounts / reporting pack, accurately and timeously, including margin reporting on all completed projects.
  • Reporting on project performance at the end of each project, noting variations to budget;
  • Work closely with operations personnel to drive efficiency improvements;
  • Ensure monthly review meetings for invoiced projects are conducted with full engagement of all key participants;
  • Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations are prepared monthly and an accurate trial balance is maintained;

Cash Management

  • Collection of receivables, manage credit control, monitoring and chasing of overdue debts;
  • Setting up supplier payments timeously on Tool Tec’s business banking, ensuring all suppliers are paid on time;
  • Drafting of weekly short term cash forecast and issuing actions to improve cash performance within the business;

Transactional accounting work

  • Process supplier invoices on Quickbooks, ensuring goods / services are received and matched to the purchase order;
  • Recording of customer receipts, supplier payments and other bank transactions on Quickbooks;
  • Raising Sales Invoices on Quickbooks and issuing to clients. Ensuring delivery fee is captured and agreed with Operations Manager;
  • Processing of credit card statements on Quickbooks;
  • Entering data into relevant spreadsheets.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience working in a Finance Dept (two years minimum);
  • Experience of managing a trial balance and producing monthly management accounts;
  • Proficient with Quickbooks accounting software;
  • Strong excel skills;
  • Interpersonal skills: (e.g. Self-confident, oral & written communication, customer liaison, team player etc);
  • A proactive attitude and ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and skill levels in an appropriate manor;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise own workload when required.

Role will be full time and on site at Tool Tec’s Kintore office.
