Part Time Accountant/Finance Manager

Luton Area | Part-Time (Potential to Increase to Full-Time)
Salary £40,000 - £50,000p.a. pro rata + Excellent benefits package

The Opportunity

A well-established, growing business is seeking a Finance Team Leader/Manager to join their company in a newly created position. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, engaging finance professional to combine hands-on finance responsibilities with team leadership and development duties.

The role offers flexibility around working hours, with the choice of either 3 full days per week or 5 hours per day across 5 days per week. There is also potential for the role to increase to full-time in the future.

Working closely with a highly experienced and engaging senior leadership team, you will oversee the transactional finance team while ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day processes and finance operations. An ability to motivate, develop, and coach the individuals reporting into you is key to your success and in return, you’ll also be thoroughly supported by the senior finance and management team.

  • Reviewing finance procedures, controls, and operational efficiencies.
  • Supporting the delivery of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation activities.
  • Assisting with month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and transactional reporting.
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and helping resolve customer and supplier account queries.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial procedures, controls, and regulatory requirements.

About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Are qualified by experience or have an AAT qualification completed or have studied towards ACCA, CIMA, or a comparable finance qualification.
  • Previous experience within a fast-paced finance environment.
  • Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, or broader transactional finance functions.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or guiding junior team members.
  • Strong systems skills, including finance software and Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to leadership.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and process enhancement.
