We are now seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to play a key role in supporting business growth and driving financial performance.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a growing manufacturing business in a highly visible leadership role. Reporting to the UK Financial Director and managing a team of two finance professionals, you will be responsible for financial control, management reporting, forecasting, compliance, and business partnering. You will provide meaningful financial insights to help shape strategic decision-making, improve operational performance, and support continued business growth. This role offers excellent exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a tangible impact across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
- Maintain ownership of balance sheet integrity, including oversight of reconciliations.
- Review and approve journals, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues and reporting variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal reporting requirements.

Business Partnering & Financial Analysis
- Deliver insightful monthly performance reporting and financial analysis.
- Analyse revenue, profitability, operating expenses, inventory, and working capital performance.
- Provide commentary and recommendations on actual results versus budget and forecasts.
- Prepare board and senior leadership reporting packs.
- Partner with operational leaders to drive business performance and profitability.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the UK business.
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly forecasting activities.
- Challenge assumptions and ensure forecasts are robust and commercially focused.
- Monitor cash flow performance and maintain accurate cash flow forecasting.
- Support strategic planning through scenario analysis and financial modelling.
Compliance, Audit & Governance
- Maintain a strong and effective internal control environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, delegated authorities, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead relationships with external auditors and support internal audit activities.
- Coordinate audit requirements and drive implementation of audit recommendations.
- Oversee VAT, payroll, National Statistics reporting, and corporate tax compliance.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Own and optimise key finance processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
- Maintain finance process documentation and month-end procedures.
- Support implementation of systems, controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the wider business.

Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and objective setting.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support cross-training and team resilience across finance functions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Act as deputy to the UK Financial Director when required.
- Provide cover and support for finance team members during periods of absence.
- Support corporation tax preparation and payments on account.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities to support business needs.
About You
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
- Strong background in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Experience managing audits, regulatory compliance, and financial controls.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities beyond the numbers.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledge.
- Experience working with ERP systems, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence decision-making at both operational and senior leadership levels.
Desirable
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Experience supporting ERP implementation projects.
- Exposure to Oracle FCC or other financial consolidation systems.
- Experience within a multinational organisation, ideally a US-owned business.
- Manufacturing or electronics industry experience.
