Role Overview
Malander is seeking an experienced and systems-focused Finance Manager for a UK-based role with a leading UK client in the logistics sector. The successful candidate must already be based in the UK and have the ability to take ownership of the full finance cycle, deliver accurate management reporting, and confidently navigate financial systems and processes.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the integration of a new acquisition into the group structure, requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and embed themselves into new systems and processes quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end finance cycle, including purchase orders, invoice processing, and general ledger bookings.
- Prepare and run accurate monthly management accounts.
- Perform budget-to-actual analysis and provide detailed variance analysis.
- Assist with the preparation of management and financial reporting packs.
- Provide clear and insightful financial commentary and analysis.
- Incorporate payroll impacts into management accounts and financial reporting.
- Take ownership of finance tasks from initiation through to completion.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting and reporting issues independently.
- Understand the full accounting cycle and systems of a newly acquired business.
- Support the seamless integration of the acquisition into the wider group structure.
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders and communicate financial information clearly.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and system utilisation.

Requirements
- Relevant accounting qualification.
- CA / ACA / ACCA qualification or equivalent professional registration.
- 1–3 years post-qualification experience preferred.
- Strong end-to-end accounting and management accounting experience.
- Experience with financial reporting and management accounts.
- Strong understanding of general ledger, invoicing, and purchase order processes.
- Experience with budget-to-actual and variance analysis.
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent reporting and financial commentary capabilities.
- Strong understanding of financial systems and the ability to quickly understand system processes and workflows.
- Industry experience within logistics is advantageous but not essential.
