Finance Manager (Senior Revenue Accountant)

Are you an auditor or technically strong accountant looking to make your first move from practice into industry, and interested in joining a high-growth technology business where Finance, data and AI increasingly come together?

Or perhaps you're already working within technology, are part-qualified, and have gained hands-on exposure to revenue recognition?

We're partnering with a rapidly scaling, international technology company that is continuing to invest heavily in its finance infrastructure as the business grows globally.

They're looking to appoint a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their Revenue Finance team, taking ownership across revenue recognition, complex commercial contracts, financial reporting and the continued automation of the revenue environment.

Importantly, you don't need to have already held a Senior Revenue Accountant position in industry.

The business is particularly interested in speaking with candidates making their first move out of practice, ideally those who have audited technology, SaaS or subscription-based businesses and therefore understand how these organisations operate, recognise revenue and scale.

Equally, they're open to part-qualified candidates already working within industry who come from a technology background and have meaningful exposure to revenue recognition.

This isn't about finding someone who ticks every box on a traditional job description.

They're looking for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, an understanding of revenue, intellectual curiosity and the appetite to develop within a genuinely modern finance environment.

The Opportunity

You'll join a small, high-performing Revenue Finance team responsible for ensuring revenue is recognised accurately across a fast-growing international technology business.

You'll develop significant exposure to IFRS 15, SaaS revenue recognition, complex enterprise contracts, large transaction datasets and revenue systems, while working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

For someone coming directly from audit, this provides the opportunity to take the technical knowledge you've developed advising and auditing clients and actually own the processes from inside the business.

You'll work closely with teams across Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, Product and Finance, giving you considerably broader commercial exposure than a traditional accounting role.

Alongside the technical accounting, there is a significant transformation agenda.

Finance is actively using AI, automation and data to rethink how work gets done. You don't need to arrive as an AI or coding expert, but you should be curious about technology and interested in developing those capabilities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll be doing

Revenue Recognition

  • Own accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15.
  • Review contracts and commercial arrangements to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Work through complex revenue scenarios within an international technology environment.
  • Develop your understanding of SaaS and subscription revenue models.
  • Provide guidance to commercial stakeholders around the revenue implications of prospective contracts.

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Support monthly, quarterly and annual close across revenue.
  • Prepare and review revenue adjustments, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to financial statement disclosures relating to revenue.
  • Maintain strong controls and documentation as the business continues to scale.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors on revenue matters.

Data, AI & Automation

  • Work with large transaction datasets across multiple systems.
  • Develop your ability to use SQL and AI-enabled tools to interrogate and reconcile financial data.
  • Help automate large-scale reconciliations and manual revenue processes.
  • Use technology to improve analysis and existing workflows.
  • Continually identify processes that can be simplified, automated or redesigned.

Commercial Partnering

  • Work closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, Operations and Product.
  • Review non-standard and complex commercial agreements.
  • Translate accounting requirements into clear commercial guidance.
  • Understand how commercial decisions ultimately impact revenue recognition.
  • Build relationships considerably beyond the traditional Finance function.

What we're looking for

There are two particularly relevant routes into this opportunity:

First move from practice

You could currently be working within a Big 4, Top 10 or other strong accountancy practice and looking for your first move into industry.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or be approaching qualification.
  • Audit or technical accounting experience.
  • Exposure to IFRS 15 and revenue recognition.
  • Experience auditing technology, SaaS, software, subscription or other relevant high-growth businesses.
  • A good understanding of how technology businesses operate commercially, even if your experience has been gained through your client portfolio rather than working directly within industry.
  • The appetite to move beyond audit and take genuine ownership within a business.

Alternatively, already in industry

You could be a part-qualified accountant already working within a technology, SaaS or software environment.

For this route, we're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Hands-on revenue recognition exposure.
  • Experience within a technology or subscription-based business.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals.
  • An understanding of month-end and financial reporting.
  • The ambition to continue qualifying and develop into a broader revenue finance role.

For both backgrounds, we're looking for someone who is:

  • Analytical and naturally curious.
  • Comfortable with technology and large datasets.
  • Interested in AI and automation.
  • Able to challenge existing processes rather than simply follow them.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders outside Finance.
  • Excited by working somewhere that moves quickly and continues to evolve.

The type of person who will thrive

You don't need to arrive knowing every system, writing SQL from scratch or having spent years specialising in revenue accounting.

What matters more is your foundation and trajectory.

You understand accounting.

You've had meaningful exposure to revenue recognition.

You understand, or are genuinely interested in, how technology businesses make money.

And you're curious about how AI, automation and better use of data are changing what accountants actually do.

For someone making their first move from practice, this could be an excellent opportunity to avoid being pigeonholed into a traditional financial reporting role and instead build experience across technical accounting, commercial finance, data, systems and automation.

For someone already in industry but still completing their qualification, it's an opportunity to accelerate your development within a sophisticated international finance environment.

The Package

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Equity opportunity
  • Hybrid working, typically two days per week in the London office
  • 30 days annual leave
  • Significant international exposure
  • Strong exposure to AI, automation and modern finance technology
  • Broad commercial and cross-functional exposure
  • Genuine opportunity to develop as the finance function continues to evolve

If you're considering your first move out of practice into technology, or you're already working within tech and want to build deeper expertise across revenue, data and automation, we'd love to hear from you.
