We are looking for a qualified Finance Manager who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, hands-on approach. You will enjoy leading people, improving processes, and providing the financial insight that helps the business make better decisions.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the business has accurate and timely financial information. You will lead a finance team, maintain high standards across financial reporting and controls, and identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
This is a varied role where you will take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and compliance across the business, while working closely with colleagues to support effective decision-making.
You will be involved in a broad range of activities, from management reporting and VAT returns to audit preparation, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the continued success of the business.

What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, holding regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
- Manage all daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
- Oversee month-end close and produce accurate management accounts for UK and overseas entities.
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly UK VAT returns and EU VAT filings.
- Coordinate monthly reporting and cash flow for the China Representative Office.
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, leading the year-end audit process.
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure all financial activities meet accounting and regulatory standards.
- Support the Group Financial Controller with statutory accounts, reporting, and process improvements.

About You
You will be a confident, organized finance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment. You will bring strong technical knowledge, great attention to detail, and a positive approach, with the ability to solve problems, improve processes, and support your team.
Must Haves
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience
- At least 2 years’ experience leading or supervising a finance team
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, management accounts, and VAT returns
- Strong Excel skills (pivots, lookups, formulas)
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero or similar)
- Confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Haves
- Experience in retail, FMCG, or e-commerce
- Exposure to international entities or reporting
- Experience enhancing internal controls or finance processes
