Lusona Consultancy are Exclusively partnered with a Growing SME organisation in Glasgow to recruit a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. The Finance Manager will join a 3 million turnover organisation which has achieved double digit growth in the last 5 years. Our client operates in the Construction Services sector in a project focussed environment. The Finance Manager will grow alongside the business, with one direct report at Bookkeeper level. This is an exciting time for the business and our client are looking for a hands on Finance manager comfortable working in a growing SME where they can achieve career growth in a collaborative working environment.

The Salary band on offer is £40,000 - £45,000 with benefits including private healthcare, workplace pension, 28 days annual leave, Study support and your Birthday off! This is a fantastic opportunity for a Part or Qualified through experience individual looking for a progressive role where they can be involved in shaping the finance function as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily finance and accounting operations of the business.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records.
  • Manage purchase and sales ledgers, including processing invoices, expenses, and receipts through Xero.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and the preparation of financial reports.
  • Produce and maintain management accounts and other key financial reports.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure robust internal controls and financial integrity.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, policies, and financial procedures.
  • Track outstanding debtor balances and support effective cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with project managers and the wider leadership team on financial matters and business performance.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems, and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Experience

  • Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Experience with budgets & forecasts and analysing data sets.
  • Ideally experience working in an SME in a "hands on environment".
  • Ambition, curiosity and desire to progress in a high successful and entrepreneurial environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, ambitious team where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact and contribute to the continued development of the business. Our client will offer study support towards ACCA/CIMA, a competitive salary from £40,000 - £45,000 per annum combined with company specific benefits. This is an onsite role based in Glasgow.
