We're Heidi

We're building the future of healthcare by giving every clinician the earth's finest AI Care Partner. In just 18 months, our clinical AI products have absorbed the administrative chaos of 73 million patient visits. Today, we support over 2.5 million patient sessions a week across 190+ countries.

Healthcare systems are failing us; clinicians spend more time on documentation than on patients, and the human connection that makes medicine worth practicing is eroding. Our mission is simple: double the world's healthcare capacity and strengthen the human connection at its heart.

We found product-market fit with a freemium medical scribe that clinicians love. Now, we're expanding. Every task a clinician hands to Heidi is a patient who feels more attended to, a health system unclogged, and a clinician who gets to be a clinician again.

If you don't choose easy and you want to build something way bigger than yourself then, choose the challenge, choose Heidi.

The role

Heidi's UK and Europe business is growing faster than the finance scaffolding underneath it. Central finance across Sydney, Melbourne and Manila runs month-end close, core accounting and day-to-day operations, but the region needs someone on the ground who owns the accuracy of its numbers and sits close enough to the commercial team to shape decisions before they get made. Today, regional leaders wait on Australian hours for answers about their own P&L. You'll end that.

The role has two halves and both carry equal weight. You'll own regional financial control and compliance: the integrity of the balance sheet, the accuracy of management reporting and forecasts, cash, strong local controls, and statutory obligations across Companies House, HMRC and VAT, directed through external advisers. You'll also be a hands-on business partner to UK and Europe leadership, Sales and Customer Success, owning the P&L narrative, bringing a commercial view to pricing, deal terms and customer economics, and making sure teams see the financial consequence of the choices they make. You'll report to the Group Financial Controller with a dotted line to FP&A.

What you'll do

Financial reporting and month-end close

  • Own the integrity of the UK&Europe balance sheet, with reconciliations that stay current, reviewed and explainable
  • Own the accuracy of the UK&Europe monthly group reporting and management accounts with variance commentary that explains movements
  • Be the single point of contact for group finance on anything UK&Europe: queries, adjustments, restatements, consolidation-level questions

Compliance and risk oversight

  • Own the UK&Europe compliance calendar (Companies House, HMRC, VAT) by directing external accountants and advisers
  • Own the adviser relationships (accounting, tax, audit), keeping work well scoped, reviewed and connected back to Heidi's internal finance standards
  • Build an early-warning process so compliance risk is caught and escalated well before it threatens trading status
  • Be the accountable owner if something in the compliance chain breaks down

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Commercial business partnering

  • Be the day-to-day finance partner to UK&Europe leadership, owning the regional P&L narrative, budget vs actual and the "why" behind the numbers
  • Bring a commercial lens to pricing, deal terms and customer economics, flagging risk and opportunity early
  • Translate regional performance into clear, decision-ready input for FP&A and company leadership
  • Give UK&Europe business leaders a reliable, self-serve view of their numbers, so decisions stop waiting on Australian hours
  • Feed central finance the regional inputs it needs at close: accrual estimates, revenue and spend context, then review and sign off on the UK&Europe result

Revenue risk and collections

  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to resolve aged and disputed balances and unblock stuck revenue
  • Own the commercial view of collection risk: which accounts, why, and what it means for cash, and feed it into forecasting
  • Drive down UK&Europe DSO by fixing the upstream causes (contracting, disputes, process), not by chasing invoices

FinOps, controls and performance frameworks

  • Build the operating rhythm that turns UK&Europe finance from reactive support into a reliable performance framework: clear KPIs, owners, review cadences and escalation paths
  • Partner with budget owners on spend decisions before they are made, rather than policing them after the fact
  • Strengthen financial controls across spend, approvals, vendor onboarding, card usage, subscriptions and commercial commitments, while keeping the process pragmatic for a fast-moving region
  • Review regional AP and card activity, including prompt removal of leaver access and cards, and escalate anomalies to central finance operations
  • Partner with external accountants, tax advisers, compliance providers and other vendors, making sure work is well-scoped, reviewed and connected back to Heidi’s internal finance standards
  • Use FinOps-style discipline to connect spend, usage and outcomes, especially across tooling, GTM systems, implementation costs and region-specific operating expenses
  • Create simple documentation and control checks so the region can scale without relying on informal knowledge or one-off fixes

What you'll need

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen — comfortable moving between P&L narrative, deal economics and cash impact
  • Experience business partnering with Sales, Customer Success or regional leadership in a growth business
  • Track record improving collections or DSO by fixing root causes, not just process
  • Experience owning spend or expense controls in a way that supports the business rather than only governing it
  • Comfortable directing (not necessarily performing) statutory compliance and VAT work through external advisers
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership in a small, remote-first global finance team
  • Clear, confident communicator — able to hold your own with commercial leaders and external advisers alike
  • Experience in a multi-entity or multi-currency business

How we show up

  • Build for the next decade, not next quarter. Our targets are outrageous on purpose. The world's health doesn't have the luxury of incrementalism.
  • Lead, don't wait. We treat tomorrow's problems today. Sometimes we build what's needed before it's wanted, and we're fine with that.
  • Follow the evidence. Trust the patient. We pursue truth relentlessly. But when the subjective and objective disagree, we treat the patient, not the numbers. Ego is a comorbidity we can't afford.
  • Own the outcome. Everyone here carries the company. Raise problems with solutions, solve them end-to-end, and never be a bystander.
  • Ship, measure, go again. A button today, a workflow tomorrow. More iterations beat better planning. We're precise at pace, not reckless.
  • Live in clinicians' reality. Not the ideal workflow, the twenty-patients-before-lunch actual one. We build for exhausted humans, and we'd better be decent ones while we do it.

Why Heidi?

You'll join a team focused on real-world impact over imaginary valuations and glossy PR. We live and breathe the challenges of modern health systems, and are laser-focused on exacting the change we'd like to see. We're medicos, engineers, builders, and designers who've felt the moral and practical toll of what non-care feels like. True A-players progress extremely fast here. The nature of the scale-up game is demanding, but we value sustainable performance and mental health. You're trusted to perform, and you set your schedule. We operate on outcomes > inputs, not process theatre. We all take the bins out, metaphorically and literally.

Building what we're building isn't always easy. But we didn't choose easy, we chose to build something that actually matters. We hold ourselves to a higher standard because healthcare demands it. If you join Heidi, you recognise that the deeper question isn't whether AI can solve the global healthcare crisis, but whose hands will shape it. The work is hard, but you will trust and admire the people you work beside, and rest easy knowing you're doing the defining work of your career.

We take care of you.

We offer comprehensive private medical and dental cover through Bupa, 24/7 mental health, coaching and wellbeing support through Sonder, a £100/month Healthy Heidi's wellness stipend, a £500 home office budget, a £700 annual learning and development budget, 26 weeks paid primary parental leave and 18 weeks paid secondary parental leave, fertility support up to £7,000, up to four weeks of work from anywhere per year, Recharge Days after major milestones and busy periods, 10 days per year of clinical leave for eligible clinical roles, and a hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office.

We chose to open-source our benefits hub, if you care to take a peek.
