Finance Manager
12-Month Contract
London (3 days onsite)
Overview
A leading organisation delivering complex public sector programmes is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, controls and operational finance activities across a diverse portfolio of projects.
This is a hands-on role supporting programme delivery teams, commercial stakeholders and senior leadership, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and supports effective decision making.
What you'll be doing
- Managing the monthly finance cycle, including accruals, reconciliations and forecasting.
- Monitoring project revenue, costs and profitability across multiple programmes.
- Producing financial reports, forecasts and management information for stakeholders.
- Supporting invoicing, cash collection and payment tracking activities.
- Reviewing project finances to ensure costs are accurately allocated and reported.
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and audit trails.
- Partnering with programme, PMO and commercial teams to understand future spend and revenue profiles.
- Driving improvements in reporting, financial processes and automation.

What we're looking for
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong background in finance operations, management accounting or financial control.
- Experience with forecasting, accruals, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have
- Public sector or government experience.
- Knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition or portfolio reporting.
