Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful business as they look to appoint a Finance Manager to join their established finance function.

This is a broad and varied opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career, offering exposure across financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit, controls and business partnering.

Working closely with the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the wider business, developing the finance team and identifying opportunities to improve processes and financial performance.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of a broad finance remit, combining hands-on financial reporting with commercial analysis, team development, compliance and business partnering.

  • Leading the month-end process, including accruals, reconciliations, and provisions.
  • Lead the month-end process, including accruals, reconciliations and accounting adjustments.
  • Own the balance sheet and ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
  • Analyse monthly performance against budget, forecast and prior year, providing clear commentary.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and coordinate reforecasts.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and lead the external audit process.
  • Business partner with departmental managers, providing financial insight and challenge.
  • Support and develop two members of staff.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisers.
  • Oversee key tax, VAT and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital performance.
  • Drive improvements across finance processes, controls, systems and reporting.
  • Support system improvements, automation and the use of data analytics across finance.

About You

We are looking for a confident and technically capable finance professional with previous experience within an accounts environment and the ambition to take the next step in their career.

You will ideally bring:

  • Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience.
  • Experience of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to meeting deadlines.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • A genuine interest in improving processes and embracing change.
  • The confidence to support and develop more junior members of a finance team.
