Forge Talent is partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in North Manchester to recruit a Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or someone with early post-qualified experience to step into a broad and commercially focused finance leadership role.

Reporting to the CFO, you'll lead a small finance team and take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, supporting month-end reporting, cash flow, budgeting and business partnering while driving continuous improvement across the finance department.

The Role:

  • Lead and develop a small finance team across management accounting, accounts payable, and credit control.
  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function, including cash flow, credit control, and supplier payments.
  • Own the month-end process, ensuring timely production of management accounts and group reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and performance analysis.
  • Partner with budget holders to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Present financial performance and key insights to the senior leadership team.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, VAT returns, and statutory submissions.
  • Oversee lease accounting, cash management, and payment approvals.
  • Review costing and pricing models to support commercial decision-making.
  • Support the year-end audit, tax compliance, and wider finance projects.
  • Drive improvements to financial controls, reporting, and finance processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
