SSO Logistics is a shareholder member of the Pallet Track network, enabling collections and deliveries at both National and European levels. Role Description
The Finance Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Haydock. The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and preparation of management accounts and financial reports. This role will manage billing, credit control, and supplier payments, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and reconciliations. The Finance Manager will support strategic decision-making by analyzing logistics cost structures, identifying efficiencies, and advising on pricing and profitability. The role includes maintaining robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and collaborating closely with operations and senior leadership to align financial performance with business objectives.

- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in accounting and reporting, including preparation of management accounts, financial statements, and reconciliations.
- Experience with financial analysis and cost control, especially in logistics, transportation, or related industries.
- Solid skills in invoicing, credit control, and supplier payment management.
- Comfort with finance and accounting software, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are an advantage.
- Previous experience in a finance leadership or management role is highly beneficial.
