Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager position with responsibility for leading a small finance team and overseeing the day-to-day finance function. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in financial reporting, business planning, and operational decision-making.

This is an office-based role offering excellent benefits and the opportunity to take ownership of a varied finance remit.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the finance department.
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management.
  • Attend management meetings and contribute to business planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
  • Oversee cash flow management, credit control, and working capital.
  • Produce financial analysis to support stock control and operational performance.
  • Manage the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll process.
  • Manage relationships with external providers, including pensions, insurance, utilities, IT, and telecommunications.
  • Negotiate and manage a range of supplier contracts.

Candidate profile:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience leading or supervising a finance team.
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to support senior management.
  • Hands-on approach with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent systems and Excel skills

Salary and benefits:

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience of circa £50,000
