Finance Manager | VC-Backed, High-Growth Buy-and-Build Platform | London, Hybrid
The Client
We are partnering with a VC-backed buy-and-build platform, built by founders with a track record of scaling and exiting global businesses previously. They are making one to two acquisitions a month, with each one folded onto a single proprietary technology platform that lifts performance almost as soon as the deal closes.
So far, they have gone from a handful of people to 20 in under six months and the next funding round is already on the horizon.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, this Finance Manager role covers month-end close, accounts payable, payroll oversight, and cash and treasury, with a bookkeeper handling the transactional work beneath you. You will also onboard new entities and consolidate on a rolling basis.
You'll take ownership of the budget early on, with forecasting and deeper analysis growing into the role over time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
