Role: Finance Manager

Location: Horwich, BL6 6JW
Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent
Salary: £47,000 - £57,000

About the Role:

Cumberland Farms are looking for a qualified Finance Manager to join our dedicated Finance Projects team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering the Company’s Finance Transformation Strategy, leading and supporting a variety of finance transformation projects across systems, processes, reporting, and financial modelling.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Financial Controller (Projects), you will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, including colleagues across the UK, US, Germany, and BENELUX. You will build strong relationships, coordinate project activity, and use your finance expertise to deliver practical improvements across the function.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and support a variety of finance transformation projects, including system implementations, process optimisation, reporting development, and restructuring and transition projects.
  • Support system implementation and enhancement projects, including the ongoing improvement and optimisation of Oracle FCC.
  • Design and implement new or improved finance processes, including both manual and system-driven solutions.
  • Work closely with dedicated Project Managers to coordinate project delivery, ensuring key actions, milestones, and deliverables are effectively managed.
  • Manage and build relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, including senior stakeholders and international teams.
  • Support the implementation and development of US GAAP reporting standards, ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting.
  • Extract, analyse, and interpret financial data to support project delivery and business decision-making.
  • Build and develop reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Power Query, presenting key insights and project updates to senior management.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified accountant – ACCA, CIMA, ACA or QBE.
  • Previous experience working within finance projects, transformation, systems implementation, or process improvement.
  • Experience supporting finance system implementations or system improvement projects, with Oracle FCC experience highly desirable.
  • Understanding of financial reporting, with experience of US GAAP desirable.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.
  • Good data management and analytical skills, with experience using tools such as Power BI, Power Query, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to present updates and insights to senior management.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
