Anderson Knight are seeking an experienced and technically strong Accounting Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary finance function within a large, dynamic organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with proven leadership experience, managing multiple finance members and driving operational excellence.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of financial reporting, controls, compliance, and finance operations across a multi-entity environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to a sizeable finance team, managing multiple direct and indirect reports across Management Accounting and Transactional Finance functions, driving performance, accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement across the department.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities, ensuring robust financial controls and the integrity of financial data.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate all audit requirements.
- Partner with FP&A and operational stakeholders to provide financial insights, variance analysis, and support informed business decision-making.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring financial performance is effectively monitored and reported.
- Drive process improvements, systems optimisation, and finance transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting capabilities.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.

- Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance management role with responsibility for multiple entities and sizeable finance teams.
- Fully qualified ACCA/CA/CIMA.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of UK accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrable experience leading, developing, and motivating finance professionals across multiple levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and provide commercial financial insight.
- Experience improving financial processes, strengthening controls, and supporting finance systems enhancements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
