Finance Manager (0174)
Location: Hybrid – London office, two days per week
Salary: £45,000 – £48,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week (9-day fortnight)
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 30 September 2026
Are you an experienced finance manager? Do you have expertise in running a streamlined finance function? Are you interested in using those skills to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting? We are looking for an experienced and adept finance manager, someone who is looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, an agile self-starter who can work innovatively in a small team to support our organisation.
This role ensures the timely and accurate management of the organisation's finances. Stonewall has streamlined its accounting processes and now needs someone to run the finances under this new and improved platform. This is a hands-on and fast-paced role that will enable you to add value and develop new skills.
To fulfil this role we are looking for someone who is:

Stonewall is an LGBTQ+ charity. Over the last 35+ years, we have helped create transformative change for LGBTQ+ people in the UK. Our campaigns drive positive change in public attitudes and public policy, and there are now over 3,000 LGBTQ+ organisations across the UK.

You will work with the COO to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of financial information, alongside teams that are driven, passionate people who are working together to deliver meaningful and tangible progress for LGBTQ+ people.
The Role
- Manage monthly, yearly and statutory financial reporting processes
- Ensure effective, accurate and timely reporting and recording of Stonewall's finances
- Ensure statutory accounting and other financial compliance requirements are met
- Ensure that a robust financial control environment exists across Stonewall
- Support teams on restricted funding and grant reporting
- Manage Stonewall's VAT, Gift Aid and other taxation requirements
- Assist with annual audit activities
- Alert the COO of financial risks so that they can be addressed
What We're Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) or qualified by experience, with a clear understanding of the value of streamlined financial reporting
- Strong financial accounting experience within a charity
- Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel
- Experience working with CRM platforms
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while recognising where escalation is needed
- Strong process delivery skills, with the ability to follow processes while proactively improving them
- Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and communicate progress effectively
- A strong understanding of and commitment to LGBTQ+ equality, including Stonewall's commitment to trans inclusion and race equity
