About the Role

Ethiq is partnering with a fast-growing data and AI consultancy to find their first in-house finance hire. They want an ambitious finance professional who is ready to take the next step, own the finance function from day one, report directly to the COO, and grow into the Head of Finance role as the business scales.

If you're a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior Finance Analyst who wants that step up but can't see a route to it where you are, this is it.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role. You'll work closely with the sales and delivery teams and give the leadership team a clear view of revenue, utilisation, margins, and cash. You'll also build the financial foundations the business needs for its next stage of growth and investment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Owning the finance function end to end: management accounts, bookkeeping oversight, budgeting, rolling forecasts, accounts payable and receivable, and cash management
  • Revenue operations: managing the services revenue lifecycle from SOWs and rate cards through invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash collection
  • Financial modelling: building integrated P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet models, with forward planning and scenario modelling around hiring, pricing, and growth
  • Commercial insight: tracking utilisation, project and client margins, backlog and pipeline, and turning the numbers into clear recommendations
  • Working with external advisers on statutory accounts, corporation tax, and VAT
  • Compliance: taking ownership of the company's ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks. No prior experience is needed, just a structured, process-driven mindset
  • Building and improving systems, reporting, and processes as the business grows

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
