Finance Manager
Location: South Birmingham
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £65-70k
Nigel Wright are proud to be partnering with a high growth ecommerce business in their search for a Finance Manager to take ownership of the UK finance function.
This broad and highly visible position combines technical accounting, commercial analysis and business partnering. The Finance Manager will work closely with senior management, providing insight and recommendations across sales, pricing, margins, customers, products, inventory and costs.
Alongside owning the core finance function, the successful candidate will have genuine scope to improve processes, strengthen controls, automate reporting and develop the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power BI and Excel. With international exposure and significant autonomy, this is an excellent platform for an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their leadership experience and progress their career.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end and year-end processes, including management accounts, balance-sheet control and reporting.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting, providing clear analysis of performance, risks and commercial opportunities.
- Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders, turning complex data into practical recommendations.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, inventory, goods in transit and landed-cost accounting.
- Strengthen controls, simplify processes and identify opportunities to automate routine finance activity.
- Coordinate VAT, statutory reporting, tax compliance and the annual audit.
- Develop meaningful management information and dashboards to improve decision-making.
The Successful Candidate
- CCAB qualified and technically strong across management reporting, financial controls and balance-sheet management.
- Commercially astute and able to explain the business implications behind the numbers.
- Highly analytical, with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and present clear recommendations.
- Proactive, accountable and enthusiastic about improving systems, controls and processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience strongly preferred.
- Power BI and inventory or product-led sector experience would be advantageous.
- Ambitious, energetic and motivated to take on broader responsibility and progress their career.
