Finance Manager - Swansea
Are you a hands-on Finance Manager who wants to make a real commercial impact?
We're working with an ambitious SME based in Swansea that is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join the team and play a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of the business.
This is much more than a traditional finance role. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, challenging the numbers, supporting decision-making and driving continuous improvement across the business.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while working closely with the wider business to provide meaningful commercial insight.
You'll also lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring a high standard of financial reporting and control.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a small finance team
- Preparing accurate and insightful management accounts
- Taking ownership of budgets and forecasting
- Providing commercial analysis and financial insight to support business decisions
- Monitoring performance against budgets and identifying key trends and variances
- Working closely with operational and senior management teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Supporting the business with financial planning and strategic decision-making
- Ensuring strong financial controls and robust day-to-day finance processes

About You
We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager who is comfortable working in a hands-on SME environment and enjoys being close to the detail.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a hands-on Finance Manager role
- Experience managing or mentoring a small finance team
- Strong management accounts experience
- Proven experience with budgeting and forecasting
- A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to turn financial data into meaningful business insight
- A proactive approach to process improvement and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with getting involved in the detail
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience) would be advantageous.
