Role Description

Finance Manager £45,000 per annum (REMOTE)

As Finance Manager, this will be a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of Walsingham's Support financial management and reporting. The role will support the organisation through high-quality financial insight, operational finance management, and collaborative business partnering across a wide range of teams and stakeholders.

This role will lead on the preparation of monthly management accounts, payroll, and year-end audit processes, while supporting colleagues across the organisation. The role is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls are in place and all balance sheets accounts are consistently reconciled.

The Finance Manager will maintain ownership of routine financial processes with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, compliance and process improvements while leading the accounts payables and receivables teams.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring within a charity, non-profit, or similar environment.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, management accounts preparation, and analysis of financial data to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Knowledge of charity finance regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes in the UK, including familiarity with relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and tools (e.g., accounting software and spreadsheets), and the ability to improve processes and controls.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience; prior experience in health, social care, or charitable services is an advantage.
