Job Summary

Salary: From £65,000 Depending on Experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (37.5 hours per week)

Location: 40 Grosvenor Place, London, SW1X 7AW (hybrid)

Contract: Permanent, Full time

What are we looking for?

The Finance Manager supervises and leads the Financial Accounting team, monitoring transactions, determining accounting treatment, leading period end closing and financial reporting and analysis. Reviewing reconciliations and ensuring reconciliations are completed properly. Supporting tax accounting and preparation of tax returns in cooperation with CCF Tax department and Head of Accounting and Internal Control. Coordinating external audit process and internal audit processes.

What will your duties include?

  • Manages the accounting function within CCL
  • Manage a team of 3 financial accountants, including their development
  • Assures the integrity of feeder financial systems to the Oracle GL and the appropriateness of transactions generated
  • Leads the period end closing process and associated financial analyses
  • Provides advice and problem resolution for teams recording financial transactions (e.g., Business Office, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Payroll)
  • Reviews transactions recorded (or to be recorded) for appropriateness of treatment under CCL accounting rules
  • Prepares financial presentations as necessary to review operating performance
  • Works with the Finance leadership to prepare for the Institute business review meetings and provides analysis and interpretation with regard to business plans, new staff recruitment, variance analysis and FTE requests and leads certain review meetings
  • Works with the Finance leadership on the outlook and annual budget cycle including budget spreads, budget reconciliation, capital budget, business plans and any other budget-related responsibilities
  • Manages and controls the CCL cash accounting function
  • Leads the reconciliation of CCL accounts
  • Works closely with the CCF Corporate Accounting team
  • Works with the Head of Accounting and CCF Corporate Accounting to manage the external audit process including timely provision of Prepared By Client schedules and responding to queries
  • Manages VAT accounting and reviews VAT returns for submission
  • Works with the CCF Tax team to ensure timely and relevant accounting data is provided for tax review
  • Reviews internal control operating at CCL and cooperates with CFO and Head of Accounting in monitoring control activities
  • Working alongside the Head of Accounting, reviewing existing processes and proposes recommendations to improve & make more efficient
  • Other duties assigned.

What we need from you?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) is required
  • Previous experience within the healthcare sector is essential
  • Good understanding of FRS 102 accounting standards and previous exposure to US GAAP is essential
  • Significant professional and functionally relevant experience inclusive of demonstrated project or people leadership essential
  • Previous experience with Oracle desirable
  • Previous experience managing a team is essential
