What You'll Do
You will play a crucial role in supporting and business partnering with the Argos Imports Logistics team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading financial planning, reporting, control, and compliance frameworks for Imports accounting processes
- Providing insightful analysis and commentary to stakeholders
- Influencing key business initiatives
- Overseeing period end closure processes delivered in collaboration with the dedicated Accenture team
- Delivering period, quarter, and annual reporting for Imports Operations and FX, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and corporate accounting policies

- Require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information for effective communication and decision-making processes
Who You Are
You are a qualified finance professional with a strong ability to present complex information in a simplified manner and provide insightful analysis to stakeholders. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commercial acumen enable you to drive strategic decision-making processes and deliver accurate financial reporting for Imports operations. With a track record of influencing effectively, coaching and team leadership skills, and experience in a large company environment, you play a crucial role in ensuring financial control, compliance, and business performance excellence within the Imports accounting processes.
Essential Criteria
- Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with experience in a large similar sized organisation; retail is desirable
- Demonstrable experience in managing corporate accounting processes including period end closure, balance sheet reconciliation and establishing and maintaining corporate controls
- Demonstrable business partnering experience within a Commercial Finance role; strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret financial data to support operational decision-making
- Proven capability to deliver and manage change within a business environment
- Ability to communicate and challenge senior stakeholders effectively, adapting to audiences with varying financial and commercial knowledge
