SRM are delighted to be partnering with a Southampton-based engineering business, a European market leader in its field and part of a larger international group, to appoint a Finance Manager.

This is a newly created role, as Finance Manager, to support the CFO, CEO, and wider leadership team as the business enters an exciting new phase of growth. Revenue is expected to double quickly, driven by major contract wins and a continued focus on improving profitability.

Reporting directly to the CFO, and the de-facto No2, this is a high-impact position offering broad exposure across financial reporting, project accounting, cashflow, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will play a central role in the next stage of the company’s journey, driving change, enhancing processes, and supporting senior decision-making and with a clear pathway to Financial Controller.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
