Finance Manager

£50,000 - £60,000 per annum | Belfast

Your new role

As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the finance function and play a central role in delivering accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, and commercial support to the wider business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Overseeing financial reporting for the Republic of Ireland entity
  • Coordinating year-end statutory accounts and audit requirements
  • Managing and supporting the Accounts Administrator
  • Ensuring the smooth running of sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers
  • Overseeing month-end close activities
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing payroll administration
  • Handling pension processing
  • Preparing payments through BACS and FPS systems
  • Ensuring VAT compliance and statutory reporting across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, including Intrastate submissions where required

Beyond the core finance responsibilities, you will contribute to broader business operations by:

  • Overseeing credit control activities
  • Supporting internal systems and IT processes
  • Producing KPI and supplier performance reports
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Assisting with stock management
  • Handling contract administration
  • Tracking internal projects

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced finance professional, either fully qualified or qualified by experience, with a strong background in management accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Experience working across both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland jurisdictions, particularly regarding payroll, VAT, and statutory requirements, would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong systems experience
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities within a busy environment
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring finance staff
  • Exposure to wider business operations
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
