Finance Manager

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Manager who will report to the Financial Controller.

Position: 000058 Finance Manager

Location: Home-based, UK Nationwide. However, regular travel will be required to the Northampton office and other locations for team, training and other meetings as part of this role

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £36,900 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,457 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Manager who will report to the Financial Controller.

Core to this role is the supervision, support and general mentoring of the Accounts Receivable Administrator, Accounts Payable Administrator, Group Network Finance Administrator and the Banking and Treasury Administrators, to ensure that each has the appropriate tools, skills knowledge to complete their duties.

The Finance Manager will contribute to building a strong relationship with key external and internal stakeholders.

Further the Finance Manager will be responsible for providing accurate and incisive reports to the management teams covering all four areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • To provide support, training and mentoring for all five reports
  • To assist in the maintenance of the operation cashflow forecast
  • To manage finance enquiry email box
  • To provide additional ad hoc reports and support, specifically including VAT and Gift aid returns
  • Provide leave cover for all five team members
  • Support the Financial Controller in monitoring, reviewing and adapting financial controls and processes to ensure the remain relevant and helps support the charity to meet its aims.

About You

You will have:

  • Hold a recognised accountancy qualification e.g. AAT level 4 or above (or equivalent) or qualified by experience
  • Demonstrable experience of supervising team members, including setting expectations, monitoring performance and providing constructive feedback
  • Demonstrable experience of motivating, coaching and mentoring team members to achieve objectives and contribute to a positive, supportive working environment.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including using lookup functions, SUMIFS and pivot tables to analyse financial data and produce accurate reports.
  • Ideally but not necessarily have experience in using PSF Financials, CRM and on-line banking tools
  • Experience of Accounts Receivable, Payable and Treasury functions would be beneficial.

This role requires some travel to our Northampton office as well as other locations for meetings and training. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.
