Job Purpose
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial accounting and reporting activities of the business, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial information is produced for local management and Korea HQ. The role has broad responsibility across month-end close, financial reporting, group reporting and consolidation, cash flow, AR/AP, audit and financial controls, as well as UK payroll-related tax compliance.
The Finance Manager will work closely with the UK management team, Korea HQ and external advisors, acting as a key point of contact for financial and accounting matters. As the role involves regular communication and reporting to Korea HQ, fluent Korean and English language skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Accounting
- Manage the end-to-end month-end close process, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Prepare and review month-end accounting entries, including payroll, accruals, deferred income, unbilled revenue, lease accounting and other required adjustments.
- Ensure revenue, costs and other transactions are recognised in the appropriate accounting period.
- Review P&L and balance sheet accounts and investigate significant or unusual movements.
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and reconciliations for key balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Support the preparation of monthly management and financial reporting.
HQ Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting packages to Korea HQ in accordance with group reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare monthly cash liquidity reports and long-overdue AR/AP reports.
- Analyse and explain key movements in revenue, costs, margins, cash flow and balance sheet accounts.
- Respond to financial and accounting queries and ad-hoc reporting requests from Korea HQ.
- Liaise with Korea HQ on accounting, reporting and financial matters and ensure clear and timely communication.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support local management decision-making where required.
Group Consolidation & Governance
- Support the quarterly group consolidation and reporting process.
- Prepare consolidation input data, supporting schedules, notes and disclosure information required by Korea HQ.
- Prepare and review cash flow schedules and other information required for group reporting.
- Review, reconcile and report intercompany transactions and balances.
- Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure group reporting information is accurate, complete and submitted within required deadlines.
- Support compliance with group accounting policies and reporting requirements.

Audit & Financial Controls
- Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual statutory audit process.
- Prepare audit evidence, reconciliations and supporting documentation for key accounting treatments and balances.
- Review P&L and balance sheet accounts prior to audit to identify and resolve potential issues and minimise unexpected audit adjustments.
- Respond to auditor queries and coordinate the provision of supporting information.
- Maintain and strengthen appropriate financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
Cash Flow, AR/AP & Payments
- Prepare daily cash and fund reports and monitor the company's cash position and liquidity.
- Monitor cash flow and highlight potential funding or liquidity requirements to management.
- Review overdue accounts receivable and accounts payable balances and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions.
- Review supplier invoices and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and appropriate approval.
- Prepare RFAs for approval and coordinate supplier payment processes.
- Arrange and coordinate bank payments to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
- Support effective working capital and cash management.
PAYE, PSA & UK Compliance
- Prepare and reconcile PAYE and PSA-related information.
- Coordinate with payroll providers and relevant internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payroll tax reporting.
- Ensure PAYE and PSA information is properly reconciled to the accounting records.
- Support compliance with relevant HMRC requirements.
- Maintain appropriate supporting documentation and reconciliations for payroll and employment-related tax matters.
- Assist with responding to HMRC or external advisor queries where required.

Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified accountant or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a financial accounting, management accounting or finance management role.
- Strong practical experience in month-end close and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and financial controls.
- Experience with group reporting and/or consolidation.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Fluent in both Korean and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional business environment, including financial and accounting matters.

Contract & Career Opportunity
This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract. Depending on business requirements and the successful candidate's performance, there may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent following the initial fixed-term contract. Any permanent appointment would be subject to business requirements and mutual agreement.
