Job Description

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is a global producer and distributor of premium content across a variety of business and consumption models and directly contributes to Sony’s Vision: To fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology.
TV Distribution licenses SPE content to broadcasters across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). It also licenses content to third parties to provide to consumers via DVD, Blu-Ray, Video On Demand (VOD) and Electronic Sell Through (EST) internationally.
The Finance Manager’s role is to support the EMEA TV Distribution business with planning, analysis and insight. Additionally, the Finance Manager works to support the International Home Entertainment teams with budget models, planning, and ultimates. Working closely with the commercial teams, the Finance Director ensures that key decision makers have the information, analysis and tools available to make the best choices for SPE.
Excellent communication skills are key, as this individual will have to work effectively with commercial teams across EMEA for TVD and internationally for Home Entertainment, with Home Office Finance in Los Angeles, other Regional Finance teams, and with Global Financial Operations in Gdynia, Poland.
What you'll do:
Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:
- Assist in the consolidation, review and reporting of budgets, forecasts and MRPs for EMEA for TV Distribution and Home Entertainment
- Prepare concise and insightful management reporting to help commercial teams understand performance, the level of risk within their plans, and detailed variance analysis
- Act as an expert in RPM (our sales planning system) and EPM (our forecasting system)
- Act as a point of contact between Home Office and the EMEA territory Finance teams
Analysis & Support:
- Support a range of stakeholders with insightful business analysis
- Build financial models to support commercial decision-making
- Understand emerging new revenue drivers and ways of adding value with a view to making sure that they are communicated, planned for, and analysed correctly

Control and Risk Management:
- Maintain appropriate business and financial controls for all forecast, planning and reporting processes
- Maintain an understanding of Risk Management. Challenge and advise management if necessary
- Act as a point of liaison between FP&A and the RTR, PTP, OTC, Stat and Tax and Home Office teams at the regional and IHE level
- Understand and improve SPE’s working capital position
- Ensure adherence to Sony accounting policies and IFRS
Projects and Continuous Improvement:
- Continually work to drive efficiency through the elimination, standardization, optimization, and automation of processes and tasks
- Continually work to improve forecasting accuracy
- Assist in the implementation of system improvements and support projects as required
- Drive adoption of new AI tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness
What you have:
- Typically educated to a degree level with 3+ years of Finance and FP&A experience.
- Fully qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Essbase and Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
- Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into clear commercial insights
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision-making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across regional and global finance and commercial teams
- Ability to present financial information in a clear, concise, and insightful manner to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on financial controls, accuracy, and data integrity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment
- A proactive approach to process improvement, standardisation, and automation
- Comfortable adopting new technologies and AI tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to challenge existing processes and identify better ways of working
- Experience working across multiple territories or within an international/regional organisation would be advantageous
- Experience within media, entertainment, TV distribution or Home Entertainment would be beneficial but not essential
