Finance Manager

Walton-on-Thames (Office-based)
£40,000 - £45,000 + Hybrid Working + Benefits

If you’re an experienced Finance Manager who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and ensuring every figure is accurate, this is an excellent opportunity to become a central and highly valued member of a successful, entrepreneurial business.

Our client is an established IT hardware distributor and technology services provider with annual revenues of approximately £9 million. Supporting customers across the UK and Europe, the business operates at pace and has built an excellent reputation within its market.

Working closely with the Board and an experienced Fractional CFO, you’ll take responsibility for the company’s day-to-day finance function, bringing structure, accuracy and robust financial controls to the business.

This is a genuinely hands-on position. You’ll manage everything from transactional processing and reconciliations through to cash flow and monthly management accounts. There is no finance team to manage, so the role will suit an experienced all-rounder who takes pride in running a finance function properly and is equally comfortable processing invoices as they are presenting accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day finance and administrative functions
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts using Xero
  • Manage purchase and sales ledger processing
  • Check supplier invoices against purchase orders and sales documentation
  • Ensure changes in supplier costs are accurately reflected in customer invoices
  • Complete supplier statement, bank, credit card and expense reconciliations
  • Prepare supplier payment files for Director approval
  • Ensure sales invoices are issued correctly or uploaded to customer payment portals
  • Manage invoice discounting uploads, reconciliations and reporting
  • Oversee credit control, customer remittances and debtor collection
  • Maintain weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts
  • Process payroll, journals, VAT returns and associated HMRC reporting
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation
  • Review gross margin reporting and investigate variances or anomalies
  • Maintain effective financial controls, audit trails, policies and procedures
  • Support the preparation of annual accounts and act as a key contact for external accountants and tax advisers
  • Work with the Fractional CFO to improve systems, processes and financial reporting
  • Support company insurance and other general business administration when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
