Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to strengthen and scale the finance function as the business grows. You’ll take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, KPIs, cash flow and treasury, while building robust processes and improving existing ways of working. The role will provide greater financial visibility across the group, helping teams understand performance and enabling better commercial decision-making. You’ll also support entity management, statutory filings, equity and debt reporting, and finance system improvements. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and building effective finance processes within a fast-moving, scaling business.
Key Responsibilities
Shape Financial Reporting
- Own and evolve group and entity reporting (via Xero now, moving to a new platform)
- Build out reporting to include budgets, KPIs, variance analysis, and rolling forecasts - from scratch where it doesn't exist yet
- Design reporting for each new business sector, monitor and develop.
- Lead implementation of new policies and rules as the business scales.
- Assist the management accountant with reporting requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
