About The Role
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you’ll be the trusted partner to the operational teams of critical programs within BT Business Finance.
The role holder will have a broad range of finance responsibilities, from forecasting and reporting to pricing change controls and new business, Revenue and debt responsibilities and external reporting with customer engagement. The role holder will also have the opportunity to work closely with the wider Business finance teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Commercial Business Partnering — Own end-to-end P&L across multiple contracts, leading senior-level stakeholder relationships (GSS SLT and direct reports).
- Month-End Ownership — Lead consolidation, reporting and balance-sheet control, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
- Financial Planning — Manage budgets and forecasts, driving robust cost control, risk management and identification of growth opportunities. Challenge and validate all business inputs.
- Management Reporting — Produce clear, insight-driven reporting for business partners and Finance, covering performance vs budget, planning updates, risks and compliance actions.
- Accounting Standards — Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting principles and apply them consistently.
- Financial Assurance — Establish and operate contract-specific accounting policies and controls aligned to BT standards. Lead interactions with internal and external audit.
- Customer Finance Lead — Act as the primary finance contact for customers, managing open-book accounting and evidencing spend and billing.
- Commercial Finance — Lead pricing and financial evaluation of contract growth opportunities, ensuring proposals meet required returns and challenging assumptions where needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner closely with sales and contract management teams to drive commercial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Qualified or working towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualification
- Experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal customers and wider finance team
- Experience of accounting standards
- Ability to explain the financial story in a simple business manner, suited to the internal and external audience
- Ability to identify key trends and analyse information
- Experience of owning month end deliverables end to end
Security Clearance: The successful applicant will be a UK national and will be required to undergo security clearance checks
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Experience working with internal and external audit
- Experience of Open Book reporting
