We are currently supporting a large organisation in Peterborough that is going through a significant period of transformation and change with the appointment of a Finance Manager to join the business on an initial 6 month FTC.
This is a key role within the finance function, taking ownership of Capital Expenditure reporting, forecasting and controls across a complex organisation with significant ongoing investment.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology and Operations, you'll provide clear visibility over capital spend, challenge forecasts and investment decisions and ensure potential risks and opportunities are identified early.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of CapEx reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Partnering with stakeholders to understand project spend, investment requirements and future cash profiles
- Reviewing actual performance against forecast and highlighting key variances, risks and opportunities
- Providing clear financial insight and commentary to senior finance and operational stakeholders
- Reviewing investment proposals and ensuring appropriate financial and accounting considerations are applied
- Maintaining strong financial controls across capital expenditure and fixed assets
- Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting period-end reporting
- Acting as a key finance contact for CapEx-related audit requirements
- Working closely with wider finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing reporting, controls and processes as the organisation continues through a wider period of transformation

The successful candidate will:
- Be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent
- Have a strong grounding in management accounting, financial control or commercial finance
- Be comfortable working with CapEx, fixed assets or significant investment/project spend
- Have strong budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills
- Be confident partnering with and challenging senior non-finance stakeholders
- Be comfortable operating within a large, complex and changing organisation
- Bring a proactive approach and be capable of working with a degree of ambiguity
