We are currently supporting a large organisation in Peterborough that is going through a significant period of transformation and change with the appointment of a Finance Manager to join the business on an initial 6 month FTC.

This is a key role within the finance function, taking ownership of Capital Expenditure reporting, forecasting and controls across a complex organisation with significant ongoing investment.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology and Operations, you'll provide clear visibility over capital spend, challenge forecasts and investment decisions and ensure potential risks and opportunities are identified early.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of CapEx reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand project spend, investment requirements and future cash profiles
  • Reviewing actual performance against forecast and highlighting key variances, risks and opportunities
  • Providing clear financial insight and commentary to senior finance and operational stakeholders
  • Reviewing investment proposals and ensuring appropriate financial and accounting considerations are applied
  • Maintaining strong financial controls across capital expenditure and fixed assets
  • Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting period-end reporting
  • Acting as a key finance contact for CapEx-related audit requirements
  • Working closely with wider finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing reporting, controls and processes as the organisation continues through a wider period of transformation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
