Financial Controller
This Financial Controller role will take ownership of the technical finance function, including tax, VAT, audit, and financial controls, while managing and developing a small finance team. Acting as number two to the Head of Finance, you'll also gain commercial exposure and play a key role in supporting a fast-growing business.

Description
- Take ownership of tax, VAT, audit, and statutory compliance across the business.
- Lead the year-end audit process, ensuring controls and documentation are robust.
- Manage and develop a small finance team, supporting their progression and performance.
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of management and financial reporting.
- Drive process improvements, efficiencies, and stronger financial controls.
- Work closely with the Head of Finance as their number two, supporting commercial projects and key business decisions.

Profile
- Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills.
- Strong experience of tax, VAT, and audit, able to take ownership from day one.
- Proactive, forward-thinking, and commercially minded, with the confidence to use initiative.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, growing SME environment.
- Ideally some people management or mentoring experience, with the ability to develop a small finance team.
- A confident communicator who can work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to wider business decisions.

Job Offer
- Salary up to £60,000, dependent on the level of experience
- 25 days of holiday leave
- Flexible working hours
- 37.5-hour work week
