Finance Manager – Legal Sector – Luton – £55,000–£75,000

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established and respected regional law firm based in Luton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who wants to take the next step in their career within a professional services environment, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function while working closely with the firm's leadership team.

You’ll oversee a small Accounts team and play a key role across financial controls, management reporting, budgeting, compliance and the Solicitors Accounts Rules, with support available from the Finance Partner.

The role:

  • Luton – Dunstable Road
  • £55,000–£75,000 depending on experience and qualifications
  • 9.00am–5.30pm, Monday–Friday
  • Full-time, office-based

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the Finance department
  • Managing and supporting a small Accounts team
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing client and office accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Managing the annual SAR audit process
  • Supporting budgeting, financial planning and management reporting for Partners
  • Assisting with annual financial statements and liaising with external accountants
  • Reviewing financial controls, systems and processes and identifying improvements
  • Managing the monthly payroll process alongside HR
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with wider financial and operational matters
  • Managing supplier relationships and key service contracts
  • Maintaining strong financial discipline, controls and compliance across the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
