Finance Manager
Stratford-upon-Avon | £40,000 - £48,000 | Full-time
We are working with a successful and growing specialist business in Stratford-upon-Avon, looking for a Finance Manager to take ownership of their day-to-day financial management and reporting.
The business has experienced significant growth and has a refreshingly grown-up culture built around trust, autonomy, and working together. This is a great opportunity to join a small, friendly team where you'll be trusted to take ownership, make decisions, and have a real impact.
Initially, there will be a particular focus on reviewing and strengthening the balance sheet, before taking wider ownership of monthly reporting, stock, controls, and financial processes.
What You'll Be Doing As The Finance Manager
- Reviewing and reconciling the balance sheet, investigating discrepancies, and resolving any historic issues
- Preparing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Improving financial controls, processes, and reporting
- Managing stock accounting, inventory valuation, and reconciliations
- Providing better visibility around business costs, including engineer and operational costs
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Overseeing larger debtor accounts where required
- Liaising with external accountants and other stakeholders
- Using Sage and Excel to maintain accurate and meaningful financial information

Experience, Skills And Attributes For The Finance Manager
- Previous experience in a hands-on Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar role
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation and management accounts experience
- Experience of stock/inventory accounting would be highly beneficial
- Strong Sage and Excel skills
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience considered
- Confident working independently and taking ownership
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving
- Positive and proactive, with the confidence to challenge when needed
- Someone who enjoys being part of a small, busy, and friendly team
