East London | Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home | £65,000–£75,000 per annum pro rata | ASAP Start

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Finance Manager to join an established finance function in East London on an initial 6–9 month fixed-term contract. This is a key role within the finance team, offering responsibility across the month-end and financial reporting process, alongside the management and development of a small finance team. The successful candidate will be a strong technical accountant with the confidence and experience to take ownership of a broad finance remit and ensure the team and reporting function operate effectively.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for the accurate and timely delivery of the month-end process, financial reporting and wider financial control activities. You will also manage and support a team of finance professionals, overseeing workloads, providing guidance and mentoring, and ensuring high standards are maintained across the function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and overseeing the month-end close, ensuring all reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Production and analysis of management and financial accounts, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and cash flow reporting.
  • Detailed variance analysis against budget and prior year, providing clear commentary and insight.
  • Taking ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations and analysis, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Managing and developing a small finance team, including workload management, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Managing audit requirements and working closely with external auditors.
  • Supporting tax returns, reconciliations and wider statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, controls and regulations.
  • Monitoring KPIs and producing management reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to improve financial performance and processes.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Assisting with finance systems and ERP-related projects where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
