Finance Manager | Consumer Hardware Tech Start-Up
£60,000 – £70,000 + Equity
London | Hybrid
The Business
I’m working with a high-growth consumer hardware technology start-up that is looking to hire a Finance Manager as the second permanent hire into its finance function.
The business has developed an innovative physical consumer product underpinned by technology and is entering an exciting period of growth following investment.
Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, this is an opportunity to join finance at an early stage and play a key role in building the function as the company scales.
The Role
This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager position covering everything from core financial reporting and control through to commercial analysis, forecasting and strategic projects.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Finance while partnering with teams across the wider business, including Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Product.
As an early finance hire, there will also be significant opportunity to improve processes, introduce new reporting and help establish the financial infrastructure required for the next phase of growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
