Finance Manager
Plymouth, Devon
£40,000 – £50,000 per annum
Our client, a successful and rapidly growing business, is seeking a commercially focused Finance Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This Finance Manager role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to take ownership of a broad, hands-on finance function while working closely with senior leadership. As the Finance Manager, you’ll provide meaningful financial insight, oversee day-to-day financial operations, and play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making and the continued growth of the organisation.
The responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and financial systems
- Produce monthly management accounts and commercial performance reports
- Manage cash flow, banking activities, and supplier payment processes
- Oversee VAT compliance, financial controls, and statutory reporting
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to support business decisions
- Monitor profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial performance
- Work closely with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
- Drive continuous improvements across finance processes and reporting

The candidate:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance position within an SME environment
- Strong management accounting, cash flow, and financial reporting experience
- Confident user of Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Commercially minded with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working autonomously while partnering with senior stakeholders
