A growing Financial Services organisation based in Leicester is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join its leadership team. Operating in a dynamic and regulated environment, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering excellent service and continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where finance plays a critical role in driving strategic decision-making and business performance.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of both the financial reporting and financial planning & analysis functions, providing accurate financial information and valuable commercial insight to support business growth. You will lead a small finance team of three junior accountants, overseeing their development whilst ensuring the delivery of a high-quality finance service across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes.
  • Managing the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting external audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Ownership of budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning activities.
  • Delivering insightful management information, variance analysis and performance reporting.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Identifying trends, risks and opportunities through detailed financial analysis.
  • Driving continuous improvement within finance processes, systems and reporting.
  • Managing and developing a team of three junior accountants, providing coaching and mentoring support.
  • Supporting the Finance Director with ad hoc projects, business cases and commercial analysis.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a strong background in both financial reporting and FP&A within a fast-paced environment. Practice background desired but not essential. Suited for a Second or Third Time Mover, so a background in Practice is desirable but not essential.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in a finance managerial position.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
  • Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Previous people management experience and a passion for developing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
  • High levels of commercial awareness and the ability to influence decision-making.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Financial Services experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
