Millennium Care is an established, family-run care provider with over 30 years' experience and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality care across the North West. We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager / Management Accountant to provide maternity cover for a key finance role within our business.
The Role
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the full finance function across three care homes, together with group financial reporting. Working closely with the Directors and senior management team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations and provide accurate financial information to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and group financial reporting.
- Bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
- Budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow monitoring and cost control.
- Management of supplier invoices and payment runs.
- Resident and local authority fee invoicing and credit control.
- Fee and supplier contract negotiations.
- Monthly payroll processing and HMRC submissions.
- VAT returns and pension submissions.
- Monitoring expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Providing financial analysis and support to Directors and senior management.
- Maintaining strong financial controls and accurate records.

About You
We are looking for someone who is experienced, commercially aware, organised and hands-on, with the ability to manage the finance function independently.
Essential:
- Strong practical experience using Xero – essential.
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Senior Management Accountant.
- Strong management accounting experience.
- Experience with payroll, VAT, pensions and HMRC submissions.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent accounting qualification/experience.

Desirable:
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified/part-qualified.
- Experience within the care, healthcare or social care sector.
- Experience managing finance across multiple sites.
