🧑⚕️ What You’ll Do As a Finance Manager
Finance here is levelling up. Our close is AI-assisted we recently cut it from 10 days to 3 and NetSuite sits at the core of a systems stack we are rebuilding for cleaner, faster data. You would be the first hire into a new team built for that next stage. This is a role for someone with a builder's mindset: you are not here to maintain the status quo, you are here to build what comes next. You do not need to arrive knowing our stack we will train you on NetSuite and our AI tooling; what you bring is the fundamentals and the ambition.
✅ What You Will Own
- AI-enabled finance. AI agents run in our close, reconciliation and reporting workflows today. You will run, improve and extend them curiosity matters more than prior experience.
- Financial systems. Grow into hands-on NetSuite ownership: users, workflows, integrations. We will train you; you bring the appetite. Partner with IT to make our data cleaner and faster.
- Month-end close. Run the entity-level close across our UK and European entities accruals, prepayments, payroll journals, intercompany feeding a swift, high-quality consolidated close. You own the checklist; your manager reviews.
- Reconciliations and controls. In a traditional finance role, this would eat half your time. Here, AI and systems have made it incredibly efficient expect closer to 15%, covering reconciliations plus ownership of AR and AP: invoicing, collections and supplier payments. Still hands-on where it counts, but the real opportunity is the builder's mindset: keep optimising our AI flows to shrink this further, freeing you up for more impactful work.
- Reporting. Monthly management accounts produced accurately and explained clearly, with analysis worked on alongside your manager numbers people can act on, not just read.
- Audit support. Own audit deliverables and keep every close audit-ready: clean schedules, fast responses, credible numbers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
