The Country Finance Manager will take end-to-end responsibility for the finance and accounting activities of the company’s UAE operations. This is a hands-on role covering financial accounting and reporting, UAE tax and statutory compliance, treasury and cash management, banking, financial controls, budgeting and audit coordination. The role will act as the principal finance contact for the UAE entity and work closely with Group Finance, local management and external professional advisers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities and monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, expenses, bank reconciliations, accruals, provisions and fixed assets.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections and variance analyses in accordance with IFRS, applicable UAE requirements and Group accounting policies.
  • Manage UAE Corporate Tax and VAT compliance and, where applicable, Excise Tax, including registration, calculations, filings, payments, reconciliations, record keeping and correspondence with the Federal Tax Authority.
  • Coordinate customs duties, import VAT, transfer-pricing and related-party compliance where relevant to the company’s operations.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, product costing, landed-cost calculations, stock reconciliations and inventory provisions.
  • Manage treasury and banking activities, including liquidity planning, payment scheduling, working-capital monitoring, foreign-exchange exposure, bank-account administration and KYC documentation.
  • Coordinate intercompany settlements, cross-border fund transfers and funding arrangements with Group Finance, ensuring appropriate approvals and supporting documentation.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, approval procedures, payment controls and segregation-of-duties arrangements to safeguard company funds and assets.
  • Coordinate payroll accounting and salary-payment processes, including applicable WPS requirements, in cooperation with HR and external payroll providers.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, banks and other professional service providers to complete statutory audits, tax filings and other finance-related regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor relevant UAE regulatory developments and support the implementation of accounting systems, finance processes and applicable e-invoicing requirements.
  • Undertake other finance, tax, treasury and business-support assignments as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
