Financial Reporting & Close

  • Apply US and UK GAAP expertise to financial transactions and business decisions.
  • Lead and execute timely and accurate month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reserves, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages, providing clear insights and explanations of financial results, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through monthly reconciliation and review processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and financial controls.
  • Support annual statutory audits and coordinate audit deliverables, schedules, and auditor requests.
  • Support the Research and Development Project teams with project accounting, ensuring proper capture and timing of revenue and cost recognition.

Manufacturing Finance & Cost Accounting

  • Own financial accounting for inventory, including inventory reconciliations, physical count coordination, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Analyze standard versus actual manufacturing costs and provide actionable recommendations to improve operational performance.
  • Support product costing activities, bill of materials accuracy, and job routings and setup.
  • Evaluate operational and manufacturing performance through financial and operational KPI analysis.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to assess the financial impact of process, product, and manufacturing changes.

Fixed Assets & Capital Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including acquisitions, capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with internal capitalization policies and controls.

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to operations, engineering, and support functions.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and periodic financial planning processes.
  • Monitor margins, operational metrics, and cost performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Drive process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational processes.
  • Partner with finance, operations, and IT teams to improve system functionality, reporting, and scalability.
  • Support the development and enhancement of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques to improve accuracy, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Team Leadership & Other

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development support to finance team members as required.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and process excellence.
  • Serve as a finance leader across the UK site and broader global finance organization.
  • Continuous development through training of self and others.
  • Assist with other finance and accounting duties, as directed.
