We are seeking a qualified accountant (or equivalent experience) to lead on the provision of high-quality financial services to the Lancashire County Pension Fund.

Lancashire County Pension Fund is the 5th largest of the 86 Local Government Pension Funds in England & Wales. The Fund has assets valued at over £12 billion and provides a pension fund to more than 205,000 scheme members.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience within a large and complex public-sector organisation.

The Pension Fund provides a pension service to over 350 employers across the county. This will remain unchanged as a result of Local Government Reorganisation within Lancashire giving stability to the team and this post.

About the Role

Based within the Lancashire County Pension Fund Team, you will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the Fund whilst also being responsible for the production of the year-end financial statements of the Fund and respond in a timely manner to audit queries. You will report directly to the Head of the Pension Fund and work closely with a wide range of external stakeholders, including:

  • Local Pensions Partnership Investments (pooled investment company)
  • Local Pensions Partnership Administration (pensions administration services)
  • Local authorities, banking institutions, and the Pension Fund’s custodian
  • Pension fund employers
  • External auditors
  • Specialist advisers and service providers

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
