Finance Manager - Projects
London (Hybrid) - 15-Month FTC
£100,000
We're partnering with a global professional services organisation to appoint a Project Finance Manager on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with business partnering. Working across a portfolio of strategic projects and investment initiatives, you'll provide financial oversight, challenge assumptions, support decision-making and ensure robust financial governance throughout the project lifecycle. The role offers broad exposure across finance, project and business change teams, requiring an individual who can confidently engage senior stakeholders while applying strong accounting judgement and analytical rigour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial oversight and governance across a portfolio of strategic projects and investment initiatives.
- Review project expenditure and assess the appropriate accounting treatment, including capital versus revenue expenditure considerations.
- Support project-related accounting, reporting and audit requirements.
- Partner with finance teams to ensure consistency in financial controls, governance and accounting practices.
- Review and challenge business cases, investment proposals and underlying assumptions.
- Perform financial modelling, scenario analysis and ROI assessments to support investment decisions.
- Monitor projects spend, forecasts and financial performance against approved budgets.
- Support annual budgeting and planning activities relating to project expenditure and investment programmes.
- Prepare presentations, financial analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across finance, project and business teams, providing both support and constructive challenge where appropriate.
- Promote best practice and help drive strong financial governance across the project portfolio.

- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Previous audit experience.
- Strong technical accounting background.
- Experience assessing capital and revenue expenditure.
- Understanding of project accounting, financial governance and controls.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience undertaking scenario analysis and ROI evaluations.
- Ability to review, challenge and influence investment decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Confident presenting complex financial information to senior audiences.
- Able to build credibility quickly and work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
