Finance Manager
We're hiring a hands-on Finance Manager to own day-to-day finance across a growing, multi-entity proptech group. You'll run the core finance engine which includes payroll, payments, reconciliations, month-end and statutory compliance. You’ll be tasked with improving it with automation so it can scale without extra headcount.
This is a broad role with real ownership. One day you might be closing out an audit, the next you're redesigning how customer refunds are paid or building a reconciliation that saves the team hours every week. The group spans UK and overseas entities, including subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Philippines and Dubai, and some products are FCA-regulated. You'll work closely with sales, support, property management and our external accountants and auditors.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Accounts, Audit and Group Reporting
- Prepare trial balances and management accounts for each entity, including overseas subsidiaries, and support group consolidation under FRS 102.
- Handle intercompany balances, FX translation and acquisition accounting for new or restructured entities.
- Own the audit process: prepare PBC lists, answer auditor queries and manage the group and subsidiary audits from start to finish.
- Track Companies House filing deadlines, audit exemptions and accounting reference date changes so no entity falls overdue.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, R&D tax credit claims and other statutoring filings such as PSA and P11D.
Payroll and Benefits
- Oversee monthly payroll and payslip queries with our external accountants
- Calculation and oversight of variable commission to the sales team
- Manage share scheme compliance, including EMI notifications and annual returns.
- Run employee expenses through Xero Expenses and keep the VAT treatment correct so input VAT is reclaimed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
