Interim Finance Manager / Management Accountant
Location: London, hybrid working
Contract: Full-time, 3 to 6 months
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 FTE, depending on experience
We are supporting a growing media technology business with the appointment of an Interim Finance Manager or Management Accountant for an initial period of 3 to 6 months.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function. The successful candidate will ensure that bookkeeping, invoicing, month-end reporting and wider financial administration are completed accurately and on time.
The opportunity would suit an experienced Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Assistant Finance Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of a broad finance remit within a growing business.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the month-end close process
- Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
- Posting accruals, prepayments, payroll and other month-end journals
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing bookkeeping and maintaining the general ledger
- Preparing and issuing customer invoices
- Managing accounts receivable and credit control
- Processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs
- Maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers
- Supporting short-term cash flow forecasting
- Coordinating with the external payroll provider
- Supporting VAT returns, year-end processes and audit requirements
- Responding to finance queries from colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Producing financial reports and ad hoc analysis for the senior leadership team
- Ensuring a smooth handover at the beginning and end of the assignment

Experience required
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Assistant Finance Manager or similar role
- Strong practical experience managing month-end processes
- Experience preparing management accounts
- Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Hands-on experience across bookkeeping, invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the finance function

AAT-qualified, part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, fully qualified and qualified-by-experience candidates will all be considered.
Formal qualification is not essential where the candidate can demonstrate strong practical finance experience and the ability to manage the role independently.
Experience within technology, media, SaaS or another growing business would be beneficial but is not essential.
